SAP SCM Lead (S4)

Job Description

Anywhere in US. Open to travel

Full Time

Responsibilities:

  • ● With background in one of the three core tracks of the SAP Supply Chain (Order to Cash, Forecast to Produce, Procure to Pay), the Supply Chain Lead has developed their career deep into their original track and expanded it to the other two to a degree in which they have a very solid knowledge not only about the integration points between these three tracks, but also about the specific functionality and configuration elements that make those work in different ways and covering different business needs and scenarios.
  • ● The Supply Chain Lead has up to date knowledge of the SAP offering in the Supply Chain, with a central focus on the S/4 HANA Digital Core, and with solid understanding of the tools around it, like IBP, Ariba, or C/4, etc.
  • ● The Supply Chain Lead has experience across multiple industries and has the versatility to discuss and advise Clients on process and business-oriented aspects of the Supply Chain design, as well as has the ability to be hands on configuring SAP based prototypes, proof of concepts and solutions, while at the same time distributing, assigning and supervising other consultants’ work as needed.
Order to Cash
  • ● Detailed functional understanding and expert level hands-on configuration in S/4 on the following areas.
  • ● Business Partners for Customers
  • ● Quotes, Sales Orders, Contracts, Deliveries, Returns, Billing document types, line items categories and schedule lines
  • ● Available to Promise (ATP) and/or Advanced Available to Promise (AATP)
  • ● Variant Configuration and/or Advanced Variant Configuration
  • ● Pricing Conditions including freight, and freight integration with parcel carriers, TL or LTL brokers, etc.
  • ● Rebate agreements and settlements
  • ● Tax integration (preferably with experience on Vertex, Avalara, Meridian or similar tax engines)
  • ● Intercompany and Intracompany Operations (including automation of the synch between AP and AR)
  • ● Lean Transportation Management
  • ● Integration with CRM or C/4 (Commerce, Sales and Service Cloud, etc.)
  • ● Sales reporting and embedded analytics

Procure to Pay:

  • ● Detailed functional understanding and expert level hands-on configuration in S/4 on the following areas.
  • ● Business Partners for Vendors
  • ● Purchase Requisitions, Request for Quotation, Purchase Orders, Contracts, Scheduling Agreements, Returns to Vendors, Goods Receipts, Service Entry Sheets, Vendor Invoices/Invoice Verification document types, line items categories and account assignment categories for Materials and Services
  • ● Confirmation control keys, Advanced Shipping Notifications
  • ● Pricing Conditions, Info Records, Source Lists, Source determination and assignment
  • ● Release strategies (traditional and through BRF+)
  • ● Tax integration (preferably with experience on Vertex, Avalara, Meridian or similar tax engines)
  • ● Intercompany and Intracompany Operations
  • ● Procurement Related MRP settings (internal/external) including strategies, special procurement keys, MRP types, etc.
  • ● Movement types, batch management, serial numbers and stock determination rules
  • ● Three-way match, definition of variances and tolerances.
  • ● Inventory methods and processing
  • ● Accounts Determination settings
  • ● Integration with SRM and/or external procurement tools (Ariba, Coupa, etc.)
  • ● Procurement Reporting and embedded analytics

Forecast to Produce:

  • ● Detailed functional understanding and expert level hands-on configuration in S/4 on the following areas.
  • ● Independent Requirements, Planned Orders, Production Orders, Rework Orders, Confirmations Documents for Discrete, Repetitive and Process Industries
  • ● Order Release, status management and order process lifecycle management
  • ● Costing and Settlement determination and analysis of variances of orders
  • ● Backflushing and actual consumption of components
  • ● Work Centers, Capacities, BOMs, Routings and Recipes, PRTs
  • ● Internal and External Operations, Phantom Items, WIP Management, by-products
  • ● Statistical Forecasting models and settings as feed for MRP, with or without conversion to Independent Requirements
  • ● Production Related MRP/MPS settings (internal/external) including strategies (MTO, MTS, ETO, etc.), special procurement keys, MRP types, etc.
  • ● Variant Configuration and Advanced Variant Configuration related production and master data
  • ● Capacity planning, leveling and analysis.
  • ● Integration with APO, IBP, MII or MES tools and/or external manufacturing tools or controllers (PLCs, SPCs, CNCs, etc.)
  • ● Manufacturing Reporting and embedded analytics
  • ● Basic configuration of QM and PM preferred
  •  

Experience:

  • ● 15+ years of experience designing and implementing SAP based Supply Chain solutions, with emphasis on advising clients on which SAP features to use to fulfill their requirements, rather than “order-taking” on what and how to configure the system.
  • ● Ability to identify opportunities for improvement in clients processes and propose solutions proactively even if the customer does not readily have requirements around those.
  • ● At least 7 full-cycle implementation projects, with at least 3 of them on S/4 HANA.
  • ● Industry experience across several industries, including Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, with at least one of them in a regulated/validated environment (FDA, EPA, GxP, etc.).
  • ● Ability to organize and manage the activities of small teams, both for project work and for development of internal team competencies.
  • ● Mindset of “business first and technology later” to understand, analyze and define solutions in S/4 that address real business situations, rather than forcing technology in without a clear understanding of its impact in people, process and strategy.
  • ● University degree in Business, Engineering, Systems or Finance preferred
  • ● Availability for up to 100% travel
